The property is in a well established rural residential precinct known as the Commonage. Once small broad acre farms, these have been subdivided to 5-10 acre lots with some land holding remaining of sufficient size to host vineyards (and wine tasting/restaurants). Commonage Road runs along the Leeuwin-Naturaliste ridge which looks north east over Geographe Bay and west over the Southern Indian Ocean. The air and rainwater is pure and over the centuries has washed topsoil from the ridge into the valleys and facilitated large trees to thrive particularly along creek lines such as that bordering our property. We are surrounded by three no-through roads so the low volume traffic is local only. All you can hear in the evenings is the breeze and if from the sea, the ocean. In the mornings, I like to listen the birds and reflect on the full glory of the milky way I pondered the night before (no residual urban light means the stars are very visible).
